Hi there,

I'm looking for some help in investigating LDAP search time alerts being
generated by SCOM 2007 SP1, Exchange 2007 Management Pack 6.0.6461.0.

A lot of Red (>100msec) alerts are being generated, sometimes every ten
minutes, sometimes only every hour or so. The alerts are being generated
against various DCs from out Hub Transport server. I can see no problems on
any of our Exchange Servers, nor on the DCs. Does anyone have any thoughts on
how I go about troubleshooting this? I am fairly new to SCOM so I wondered if
anyone could advise on the general steps for testing and reporting on these
errors.

Does your Active Directory span multiple sites that might have network
latencies? The monitor is known to have issues because the performance
counter presented by the Exchange Server checks for Domain Controllers out
of the local site and can log high latencies to these out of site Domain
Controller. As of now the only solution you can do is increase the
threshold on the monitor, or increase the consecutive samples in the hope of
cutting down the frequency of the alert.

This performance counter is being reviewed for the new native MP to find a
