Discussion:
Trans log age monitor in OM07 MP for Ex2k3?
(too old to reply)

One of the more useful rules in the MOM05 MP for Ex2k3 checked the age of
transaction logs, "Exchange Transaction Log files are equal to or older than
the maximum days allowed." If trans logs were older than 24 hours,
indicating a full backup failed, then we knew we need a prompt response to
that alert. This was a fallback alert in the event our backup solution
didn't alert us. I can't find a rule anything like this in OM07. Anybody
found an alternative?

Thanks!

In the Operations Manager 2007 MP the Log Files Truncation check is now a
monitor and not a rule.
Check under monitors with the type Exchange Database Storage, under
Availability there is a Log Files Truncated Monitor.

Thanks very much, Steven! I found that monitor and plugged an override in to
change the MaxDaysAllowed from default of 2 days to 1 day. I wish our
environment was different to where we could tolerate missed/failed backups
for more than one night, but that's the nature of the beast.

In OM 2007 R2, where can I find Monitoring Exchange 2010 transaction log file age?
Which monitor I should be looking?
