We recently imported the most recent Forefornt MP. Looks like its a converted
MOM PM from 2007. We had to override the ForeFront service monitor because it
always triggers on the inactive server in a cluster. This service only runs
on active server for cluster and must be set to manual because forefront
itself controls when the services start and stop, its all integrated into the
cluster. Has anyone else had to deal with this and found a mechanism to
monitor?
thanks!

If you use discovered inventory and look for the ForeFront Type does the
Exchange Virtual server appear to be of the Forefront type? If it is then
I would recommend disabling the fore Front monitor on all the physical nodes
in the cluster. Leave the checkstartup as false, so you alert when the
service isn't running. If the cluster virtual server is being discovered as
a ForeFront type then the service should be validated against the virtual
server as you desire instead of against the physical nodes.
