Hi,

we have exchange 2007 server with 32/8 GB Ram for mailbox & Hub role and
with all the MS standard configuration... the exchange server having ~9k
mailboxes and we have set a threshold on SCOM like if 50 messages relayed
through HUB role within 60 secs & SCOM compares the 5 samples, if all of the
5 samples are above the this threshold SCOM is generats the alert.

COunter Name: Messages Queued for Submission
Last Sampled Value: 62
Number of samples: 5

When I checked the submission queue on the HUB server the queue is normal or
HUB is processing as usaul. also we have another mailbox server with same
configuration and this 2nd mailbox server is having very less number of
mailboxes....

when I see the SCOM performance monitor chart the average number of emails
realying through the submission queue is between 70 to 80 messages per 60
secs.

I would like to know should we increase the threshold from 50 to 80 samples
on SCOM or balance the mailboxes across these two mailbox servers. Please let
me know your recommendation.

also have posted a question on exchange blo
